First Aid at Work 3 Day Course

Unit 1 covers the following topics:

• roles and responsibilities of a first aider;
  • cross infection;
  • recording incidents & actions;
  • use of available equipment;
• assessing an incident;
• unconscious casualties (including seizure);
• cardio pulmonary resuscitation;
• choking;
• wounds and bleeding;
• shock;
• minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters);

Unit 2 covers the following topics:

• secondary survey;
• injuries to bones, joints and muscles (including spinal injuries);
• suspected head and spinal injuries;
• chest injuries;
• burns and scalds;
• eye injuries;
• sudden poisoning;
• anaphylaxis;
• major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma & diabetes);
• serious bleeding including:
  • embedded objects;
  • sucking chest wound;
  • amputations;

This course is delivered over 3 days and a certificate will be awarded upon completion, from the awarding organisation. After successful completion, delegates will need to attend a re-qualification course every 3 years. In the latest Resuscitation Council Guidelines, it is recommended that annual refresher training is offered to candidates to keep up to date with their skills. This can be done via our E-learning options. Saving both money and time taken away from their role attending training.

This also makes us flexible with time, and we will work around your schedule, even if you need training on the weekends.
